100 years of Dhaka University:

Dhaka University was established on July 1, 1921 on the demand of facilitating tertiary education in East Bengal of that time. It has completed its 100 years of academic activities on July 1, 2021. Dhaka University began its academic activities with three residential halls and eight departments at the very beginning. Standing on its century year since its birth, Dhaka University has 83 departments under 13 faculties and 12 institutions. It has also 20 residential halls and 3 hostels as well as 56 research centers to meet up the student’s need. Dhaka University has observed its hundred years through a colorful program including concert, debate championship, laser portrayal and some cultural events. Dhaka University authority has also designed a special kind of logo for the celebration. A monumental structure has been set up on Mall Chattar to make the history memorable. Akhtaruzzaman, the VC of Dhaka University, inaugurated the monument . Dhaka University has planned a master plan to smoothing its academic performance, facilitating students with equipments they need to sharpen their skills and Knowledge. Being a 100 years old institution of Bangladesh, it has witnessed many historical events such as partition of 1947, language movement in 1952, six point movement in 1966, election of 1970 and the ultimate independence of Bangladesh. As Dhaka University contributes much for spreading knowledge in the south east part of Asia, it is the vow of it to foster the academic excellency of students in a well organized way.
